What We Believe

People have always enjoyed sharing their passions, voicing their problems and socialising with like minded groups.  We used to chat over the garden fence, complain with letters to the editor and join local clubs.  Today, increasingly, we turn to blogs, video-sharing and other networked media when we feel the need to connect.Computerchat

Now, on a grand scale, individuals are organising themselves around their passions and enjoying the liberation that comes from connecting directly with one another - outside of traditional institutions - using simple online tools.  In doing so, they are turning the public web into a thriving global bazaar where anyone can set up a stall or soapbox. 

This raises many challenges for organisations and brands.  Traditional marketing techniques and language become less effective.  The ideas that have made branding so successful begin to crumble.  Traditional innovation techniques prove too slow.  Competitors create new lightweight business models.  Corporate technology platforms lack the intimacy of web tools used by individuals.  While corporate culture and hierachy is challenged by P2P environments.

Collaborate understands the new environment and, more importantly, the trends that are driving the changes.  However, while we find these developments exciting we know the speed of change and its technical nature can be daunting.  Our role at Collaborate is to bring these trends to life in ways that executives can appreciate, feel inspired by and use in their decision-making.  Sometimes, we call it open source marketing and you can see a little more here.
