Current TV is a new TV channel backed by Al Gore. It's also an attempt to do something very different with today's tired TV format. As their site says...
"There's plenty to watch on TV, but as a viewer, you don't have much chance to influence or contribute to what you see. This medium - the most powerful, riveting one we have - is still a narrow vision of reality rolled out in predictable 30-minute chunks. It's still a fortress of an old-school, one-way world. We want to bust it open."
"iPod TV" is how Steve Moore at Ice-3 described it to me. It has a Current Studio that invites viewers to contribute their own films and the news each hour will be based on what people are searching for on Google. Current TV will start broadcasting later this year to 20 million homes.
