The BBC-led Creative Archive, an attempt to introduce Lawrence Lessig's Creative Commons licence to bear on public broadcasting moves forward. It now encompasses the British Film Insititute, Channel 4 and the Open University. Lord Puttnam (yes, Chariots of Fire) made the keynote at recent gathering of the group. It's an inspiring read.
"The obsessive focus on the threat has continued to blind many to the opportunity. The commercial music industry has already paid a high price for that. The public sector cannot afford to make the same mistake."
