In a project that is bound to get the blogosphere very, very excited, Penguin have kicked off a wiki and
a blog with a view to writing a collaborative book - with a little help from some MA student moderation. It sounds like it should have something to do with monkeys, typewriters, infinity and Shakespeare but it's a brilliant modern marketing ploy. And as JoHo says: "1. If you'd asked me four years ago if Wikipedia would work, I would have guessed wrong. 2. A novel is not the only worthwhile result that could emerge from this experiment." And, after all, penguins do have a lot of experience in the area...

Nothing new in the world James...
Johnnie Moore, Paul Goodison (betaroad) and I tried this three years ago with our mutual marketing manifesto...
Our 'sponsor' was the divine Emma Barnes of Snow Books
Sadly the project died at the toddler stage due to SPAM...
try to do something brave and optimistic with fellow human beings and other fellow human beings will always screw it up.

But surely there is a difference between a marketing manifesto and a work of fiction Timbo ;-)
