TV Land is really starting to wake up to a networked world. As the unbearable weight of legacy
finally
becomes too much, the economics are starting to drive innovation. Of course we have the monster that is GoogleTube, then Joost goes live with CNN, and now TorrentFreak reports that the big European public stations are trying to define their own P2P standard and are turning to open source solutions like Tribler - which is a sort of friendly Bittorrent client with Last.fm functionality called Buddycast. Confusing space at the moment but it's never wise to bet against OS. Hey, even Dell have got their heads around that one. (If you are interested in the area you could do alot worse than picking up a copy of the Futurescape report).
