Services Clients Buy

Penguinservice Collaborate Marketing helps companies operate effectively in networked media environments, such as the blogosphere, social networks and online communities.

What does that mean on a day-to-day basis? We hope this page gives you an idea of the services that clients buy from us.  Broadly, they fall into three areas: Education, Evaluation and Engagement.

In fact, a lot of our work is about specific scenarios or problems.  Often, it starts with a conversation such as: "We're thinking about this, could you take a look."  So please get in touch if you'd like some feedback on your exact issue or brief.

Our charges are also on a bespoke basis.  We work through agreed project fees, retainers, as interim management or outsourced partners.  Our guiding principles for fees are clarity of purpose, openness and flexibility.  We want to do a good job for you and for you to feel happy about recommending us to colleagues and associates.

Education - What's Going On?

Training - Which Digital Issues Are Relevant To You? Question6
We provide bespoke training sessions for senior executives looking to bring themselves  up to speed on  the fast-moving web world.  The sessions are designed to meet individuals' requirements, steer away from techno-speak and offer insights relevant to senior level decision-makers.  We run these sessions for groups and on a one-to-one basis.

Workshops - What's The Role Of Networked Media?
We design, manage and deliver workshops that let marketing teams understand technology trends and how they are relevant to branding. We explore questions such as why social networking has become so popular and how blogs and other networked media fit into the marketing mix.

Evaluation - What Does It Mean For Us?

Strategy - How Do You Participate In Networked Media?
We assist companies and brands in understanding how the new environment affects them.  Then we help identify practical ways to proceed.  We also take an active part in bringing stakeholders into the process, make sure their views are heard and that they feel comfortable with change.

75042742 Analysis - Where Do You Start?
A quick way to understand how you are being represented online in blogs, video-sharing sites and other types of networked media is to take a good look around for yourself.  However, this can be a time-consuming process if you don't know where to start looking.  Collaborate provides executive reports written clearly with the client's priorities in mind.  They are not meant as a replacement for the industrial web scouring systems that are on the market.  However, they are a precise, informative way for executives to get a better sense of the online landscape and how it relates to their own strategy.

Audits - Where Are You Now?
Collaborate carries out audits for companies and brands to help understand their position in the social web and how they relate and compare to other organisations. This is a bespoke service including interviews, online analysis, seminars and clearly written reports with recommendations free of techno-speak.

Participation - What Does Conversational Marketing Mean For You?
Conversation Spaces are live community sessions that genuinely respect all the good practices of the blogosphere and other online networks.  We aim to understand context for the conversations that are appearing around specific topics, subjects or products.  In other words, we are looking to see how and why the community is socialising.  The sessions are agenda-free and rely on facilitation to create a lively event where people feel happy to express themselves, however they feel most comfortable.

Engagement - What Can We Do?

Audience - How Do You Build An Online Audience?
Creating content for networked media requires a different approach from other media because people are in a very active mindset when they participate in forums such as blogs and social networks.  We run Talkingsessions to explore the various techniques that can be used to build an audience on the social web.

Communication - Blog School & Writing For The Web
OK, so the new blogging platform is in place and your internal team is fired up and ready to go.  But where do you start?  What differences are there writing for the web compared to other media?  What tips and tricks are worth knowing before you start?  And how do you get a plan together for the first year?  Blog School is designed to help internal teams looking to get up to speed and feel confident about their first steps into the blogosphere and writing for the web.  More here.

Tools - Blogs & Networked Media
There are many types of blogging software on the market all offering different attributes and benefits.  We have experience of using them all and will work with you to choose the right system, install it properly and make sure people understand how to get the most from it. We can also advise on related tools such as wikis, RSS feeds and social networks.

Communities - How Do You Build A Valuable Community?
Communities come in many shapes and sizes however the most important part is making sure people find them useful and that they have a clear purpose. We call it The Oomph Factor.  You can read more about it here.
